The first set of Jabulani warriors of 2013 set off for South Africa on New Year's Day.
Fiona, Jamie and Roland all left James Gillespie's High School 10 years ago but are delighted to be able to get involved with the project. They are travelling to South Africa with Alex Wallace and will spend four weeks volunteering for the project in Durban. Further volunteers will then arrive throughout the rest if the year, with the total warriors for 2013 already at 19.
In order to raise money for the project, Fiona, Jamie and Roland organised a fundraiser pub quiz which took place on 17 December at the Golf Tavern in Edinburgh. It was fantastic to see so many people come along to show their support, have some fun and most importantly, raise some money.
Thanks so much to everyone who took part and made a donation. We are so pleased to confirm that we were able to raise over £900 which will go directly to the project and really will make a difference.
Watch this space for news on how this money will be spent.
